another k and n question?

ok,i finally shelled a couple bucks for a new k and n airfilter,there is a filter or shield of some sort on the cover of the air box,does the come off or its supposed to stay on?i popped in the new filter ,and also i noticed a small diff in acceleration,or just my imagination?sorry i did search with out what i was looking for,lid fit a little tighter,hope thays right,thanx for any input.

I put in a K&N filter in my XB a few months agoe. There should be a rubber ring around the foam&wire frame. It just drops right in. Dont dissasemble the filter. I almost did and read in the instructions that it is suposed to look like it comes apart. You probably get about 1-3 hp gain depending on how your cpu feels at that given time.

workin on the overhead tv and dvd player ,just doing some simple stiff so far,changed out all exterioor and interior lights to piaa super brights,added extra domelight in rear and removed all badges and put a yakima rack on it,planning on tinting windows and hopefully some wheels.
