Default oil weight for boosted tC's (turbo charged or supercharged)

What oil weight are you running with you boosted tC? What weight oil comes with the TRD supercharger or is recommended?

Recommended oil with the TRD supercharger is 5w30, but anyone who knows anything about funning FI will tell you that 10w30 is what you should run...10w40 and even 10w50 is fine depending on the climate in your area.

Its about to get pretty cold here soon. Stay with 5w30 syntec for weather reasons or go up to 10w?

Just started running Royal Purple 10w 30. Nice stuff, noticed a smoother idle out of it, some claim to notice power but who knows.

It truely depends on where you live. If it is really cold there stick to 5w30. I uae 5w30 in the cold months and 10w30 in the warmer months

Yeah Brian thanks for giving me props on the Royal Purple suggestion!

I run 10W-30 RP as well and I love it. I'll run this oil for a long time. I also use the RP synchroshift tranny fluid.

I was thinking of switching back to 5w30 for the winter...but it rarely goes in to single digits here so 10w30 should be fine. Plus that supercharger rattles like crazy with the 5w30 in it.

Hey I live in Sacramento it is starting to get pretty cold like 45-50 degrees At times. Is it good to mix different weights like 5-30 with 10-30 50/50?

45-50 degrees??? what are you worried about? That is not near cold enough to worry about using straight 10w30! Just use 10w30. Try weather that goes into the teens and single digits like Pittsburgh. Hell the peeps in the minnesota area have it even worse...

Running 10w40 Syntec. Live in MD so weather varies, not too cold but not too hot either.
