Default sell my gf on the xA

my girlfriend's current car is on its way out and it'll cost more to fix it than it's worth (95 corolla w/ 193k on it). she has told me a few times that she wants a "fast, fun" car, but given her budget the "fast" part isn't really an option, so I thought at least the xA would be "fun." It also has an aftermarket, so if she wants to make it her own (which i hope she will and will encourage) she'll have an easy time. I like how it looks (esp when lowered with different wheels) but she's not crazy about it, so i still have to sell her on it. what made you buy your xA? Since buying it, what are your favorite features? How should i sell my gf on the xA?

Take one for a test drive. A 5-speed if she drives stick.

That's all you gotta do.

Does she have an ipod? the iPod Stereo is great.

tomorrow we're going to go to dealerships after work and check out the xA along with a few other subcompacts. stick is a requirement for her, she hates auto. she has an mp3 player, i think it's a zen, not an ipod though. she'll definitely get the connector. if she comes to like the look i'm a little afraid of the lack of power. she said she wants a car that is faster than what she has now, which i think the xA should at least be close, i just hope it's enough

if anything the tC could also be in the budget, it's got a bit more power.

Definetly test drive it first, I have the xb and i love it, i test drove all 3 an love all of them equally but the xb is my personal fav
I think if you let her search some things on SL shell have no problem being convinced to buy one. There are alot of Xa's on this forum that are simply amazing and I garuntee when she gets one shell fall in love with it and become an SL addict lol. I would tell her to defintely consider one but first test drive all 3 of them, there all excellent vehicles.
good luck future SL addict.

Listen to dirty...let her test them all, then show her all the threads here about how people love these cars...

No, it isn't a fast car, but it sure is quick.... and she probably can tell you, fast isn't always what she wants.........

the tC is just out of the budget, she's looking at $15k max, obviously the lower the better. the tC is what she first wanted, but it's just out of her range. If she was spending the money on a car like the tC she would spend it on a Wrangler instead, which is what she really wants but again is just outside her budget (especially when the extra cost of gas is considered)

that's a good idea, i was actually reading through some of those threads earlier about how people love it, how they never thought they would care about a car and now do, etc..., and that's a lot like how she is. i'll have to show her some when i get home

it's not always about what she wants
quick is good enough i think for her, i let her drive my car once when it was stock and she said she was scared. plus she has enough speeding tickets

the scion is kind of a "cult thing", a club if you will.....once your in your in...but you gotta have a scion to understand.
As far as exceleration goes, the weight of the car helps alot with it's quickness. It is very light and the engine is very responsive.....she will love it. Show her some pics of Xa's on this sight. There are some beauties!!

The new limited edition Xa has a special Kenstyle kit on it and comes in a lighter blue. And with the higher gas prices it has good mileage too.

If she wants to dress up the outside, the RS might be the best bet right now... Body mods for the 06 are still kind of hard to find.....

for now, at least until she gets a raise or 2, she's mostly worried about the car payment, not modding it

off to find more info on the rs though

Tell her it's a real dude magnet!

Umm...on second thought, that might not be in your best interest.

jred, that is me. And TRUST me, it is her. I swear, if I didn't know better, I would think you were talking about me. LOL

My budget was 15k max. I will admit, seeing the car from the outside made me think it would be too small, weak, not for me. Just get her in it. One time. After that, no worries...these cars tend to pick their owners. I know mine did...
