Default What Accessories to get..?

My loan check should be here in around 10 days and the dealer is searching for my manual tranny, polar white xA. So I'll be joining the ranks of Scion drivers soon! Must say that I'm completely smitten with the little car and I really can't wait till it gets here!

I have about $2000.00 to spend on accessories for my car. I budgeted an extra 2k on my loan for accessories so they have to be done at the dealer at the time of purchase (or order). The spoiler is a must so that leaves around $1700.00 for other accessories. What accessories would you guys reccommend?

I am strongly considering the cold air intake but what else would help with the performance of the car? Is the Sport Muffler ($299) worth it? How about the shortshifter?

I'd really LOVE the interior light package in blue, but I've read that the lighting is a bit dim.. is it worth spending over $500 on it? Or would I be better off going to ebay and buying the LED package myself and then paying someone install the lights?

I'm also leaning toward the security/keyless entry upgrade.

I'd really love to hear your opinions on what accessories you'd pick up at the dealer! (remember you have a $1700 budget!) :D

Dealer options... If you are interested in perforrmance, the AEM cold air intake is pretty good. Also, I would recomend springs for the xA, as it rides very high (you will see if you put rims on it.) Unfortunately, the TRD springs offered by the dealer only drop you about 1" and they are overpriced. Its an option though...

the springs are a decent idea, I was surprised that it only drops the car what.. like 20mm? I thought it would be more than that.. :?

uumm.. yeah but the 2000.00 for the accessories is on the dealer check... one check so, I have to use it at the dealer. This would be why I asked specifically about what would be nice to have out of the stuff at the dealer.

go with the short shifter, intake, springs, and strut bar... and if you still have some left over go with the exhaust or some interior upgrades like cup illuminators.

Default Upgrades with your $2000

OK, you're getting the spoiler.

Then go for some combination of Lojack (lowers your insurance about 35%), remote starter - so great in the heat and the cold, and maybe an upgrade to the 6-CD changer. You could also use the cash for the extended warranty and Cold Air Intake.

Kinda practical suggestions....sorry so boring.

I went with the spoiler, automate aftermarket alarm, cruise control and speaker upgrade.

What I didn't know, but found out when i went to pick up my car is that the dealership offered aftermarket stuff other than the stuff listed on the scion site. The additional products carry the same warranty as the other stuff.

The Automate alarm was MUCH cheaper than the Scion Security. The Automate alarm has same or better features/performance.

I was a little disappointed with the cheap look & feel of the cruise control controls. It works, it's just that the arm/control seems HUGE and just really cheaply made, especially for the $350 it cost. (see pic below)

The speakers were a good deal IMHO, I payed about the same as I did for my last system (4 pioneer 3-way speakers, 10" sub, powered amp). It's also a different package than what is offered on the Scion site. I was NOT happy with the way the bazooka sounded with the anemic amp Scion offered. I'm really happy with the way my car audio sounds now and it was cheaper than the Scion upgrade.

I'm planning on putting in a set of ground wires, tinting the windows, getting the CAI and front strut tie bar, and other small projects like painting the engine cover, mud guards.. etc. at least thats the 6 month plan! :D
