Default Avon vs. Pole Position

Is there a significant difference between the Avon Tech's and the Potenza Pole Positions?

I am getting the hotchkis sways and new tires and I'm not sure if I should pay the extra $$$ for the potenzas...

Will I see a big difference over stock with either tire? and how much better is the potenza?

Thanks!

No clue about the potenza pole positions - they're too new for us to give too much weight to the review on tire rack. As for the Avon Techs, I'd say go with them - they're exceptional for an all-season tire. Great tire wear, exceptional grip, and they're a lot cheaper than the Potenza Pole positions.

how will a maximum performance summer tire perform in the winter?

will it perform better than an all season in the summer? (i'd assume so...)

and by winter, that means rain, right? it doesnt snow here.

Winter = Snow.

If it doesn't snow there at all, go with a summer tire..... The Kumho ECSTA MX's are highly rated. Good wet (rain) performance, too.

It's great for wet and dry... probably the grip you're looking for. The treadwear's not that high though.
