Now that I'm an owner, I've realized that there are a few things I would have done differently if I could go back and do it again. I thought this would help others thinking of buying an xB. Here's my list:
Gotten the alarm system aftermarket. The $600 security system isn't worth the high cost, and the aftermarket kit is better.
Gone with a color other than silver. All the other scions in my neighborhood are silver. It's incredible.
Probably buy it outright vs. the lease I got. Getting through the lease process at the dealer took *hours*. But the lease works for my taxes.

 

I probably would have gotten my rims aftermarket. If I remember correctly, the whole package of rims and tires was about 2,000 dollars extra. I did some research and found I could have gotten the retail equivelant of my ENKEI's for a lot less. Prices ranged anywhere from 900-1500. BUt thats all I would have done differently.

 

Thanks for the tip about the security system. It'll free up some mod money once I go to buy.

Skip all the accessories from the dealer, order them online. Paying twice as much for them (not to mention the interest) so you can finance is dumb.

Yup, do not buy anything from the dealer... you can find cheaper parts elsewhere, like eBay...

 

Max is right and sadly most of their stuff is mediocre at best.

I got the cargo cover too. Sux

Floor mats look nice but heel started wearing a spot after a month. The ones in my wife's Gr. Caravan show no wear after 2 years and little care.

the bumper applique I could take or leave. Haven't seen a better option yet but seems like there should be.

That's the only adds I had.

I must say I originally said "Why would I want lighted cupholders?" to "Why would I want them for $300 bucks" to "Why buy when I can DIY" :twisted: And then, like rabbits, those darn LEDs started multiplying fruitfully...

 

I might get another color but other then that no changes. White can be a pain to clean sometimes but I didn't get any options so no regret there. :D

 

I would have bought mine sooner..... I don't think I would have done anything differently as I didn't buy into the long term warranty, or any major add-ons (except for the TRD Spring/struts but that I don't regret...)

I would have added the sunroof into my finance...it would have only been 10 dollars extra on my payments! Damm It! Otherwise I would do everything the same. The only things I got from dealer where the Foglights and spoiler...Both are fine by me... :D b
