Just wanted to say bye
Well Ive tried to put this off long enough, but Im sick and tired of some of the posters on this site. The first time I disappeared for awhile to get away from the mess around here, but I soon come back and its worse than before. I think we all need to hit the rules section of this forum! There has been so many bashing on this site.Threads get locked before your question is even answered.I feel sorry for half the people on this site that get reemed into the ground by half of you. If you notice those people post once, get bashed and never post again. Is that the goal of the site? Theres no need for that but Im not here to be your dad. When I first bought the Tc I was told by the saleman that this is a awesome site and there are great people on here. I beg to differ. Now its a flame war to see how many people you ____ off during the day. I cant even imagine what you say when you meet people face to face. Personally I dont want to be at the meets or the shows because if this is how you act on the computer what the hell do you act like in public!I have been researching the other forums and I believe this one is the worst one of all. So thank you to all who have helped out, but this is the time where I have to put my foot down and say no more B.S.!I suggest everyone to calm the F!@K down its the holidays and get off your high throne.Goodbye!
When I first got on this site almost 2 years ago I, like many new commers today, was bashed on for being a noob and I learned to follow the site rules. Its not that hard.... If you or anyone else does not like it then leave. One less person to make useless threads IMO.
Sorry to see you go. My outtake on everything:
Everyone tries to be an internet badass. Just don't take things too seriously and all is fine. I don't even bother to read 75% of posts in most threads because of what you said. It doesn't bother me if people rag on eachother because I bet in person, almost no one on here would say 95% of the trash talking they do.

Its not like I dont like the rules its the poeple that choose not to follow them!I dont post stupid crap and the reason Im going is Im tired of hearing people bash on each other for stupid reasons, not because "Im a rebel at heart and dont like those darn rules."Ive been here for a little over a year now and Im not a idiot.
when i was pondering buying a wrx i was lurking on nasioc.com and i had questions answered without being flamed. it seemed to be a more mature site overall compared to this site. not sure if it is because the subie owners are in a slightly higher age bracket than here. there are tons of useful threads here and i'm grateful i came across this site. i do know what you mean about all the flaming that goes on here and it is unfortunate. i know people get ____ed off when someone posts something without using the SEARCH feature, but cut the noob some slack and instead of taking the time to rip him a new one, give an informative answer and then mention the SEARCH feature. (i've seen some people be cool about mentioning the SEARCH feature, but more times than not they only reply with "SEARCH").

As teamben158, I dont think many of the stuff that is said around here would occur in the public. Ppl just type away..........

I onced voiced my opinion about the Scion community and SL and boy did I need the flame suit! hahaha
I agree. When new people come to a forum, they have questions they need an answer to. It doesn't help them if all they get for replies are "Use the Search function," "Search," "This had been asked millions of times."
Someone just reply with the answer and that should be all. But when a new person asks a question they have to browse through post after post to get the answer they were seeking, or just leave and regret asking in the first place.

Im amazed at how lazy some people are... how hard is it to search? There is a reason why sites like Google, Yahoo etc exist: so you can search for an answer. Its not hard and takes the same amount of time if you were to post another useless thread.
Why not build on the knowledge that exists on this site by using the information that is available already instead of starting from scratch again with a new thread?

there are subforums for a reason...
Every website similar to this has this problem. I am also a member of clubcivic.com which is pretty much same as this except for civics (who would have thought).
It's not that bad now but it used to be just like this in the beginning. Now it's almost gone because the mods are strict and the people that have been on there long enough don't let it happen. I'm sure that it will change over here 2
Sorry to see you go

Scionlife is not that bad. There are alot worse car forums out there. Inexpensive sporty cars tend to draw the immature crowd so some of the things you see here are to be expected. Check out some of the forums for the Civic Si. It is just as bad, if not worse than this one. Things here are quite good in my opinion.
In reality, you can't take anything personally. None of these people know you, and you don't know them. It's just a community of discussion. I've asked things before that haven't gotten positive responses, but so what, who cares that much to take it to heart? You just blow it off and ask again or ask another question later.
Also when in person, people will always act differently than online. People talk online feeling distanced and shrouded by the computer screen. In person, you are actually engaged and in a conversation where your words directly affect you. I'm sure the majority of the guys on here are nice even if they sound like ****** in written text. You gotta understand that most people read forums as just words, not people with feelings and emotions.

If a newbie comes along and starts a thread asking the stock horsepower of the tC. Instead of waste time and bandwidth saying "use the search feature" or anything related to not answering the question, it was just a waste of time for both parties.
Instead, here is what I expect to happen:
newbie: Hey I'm new here, what is the stock horsepower of the tC?
SL: it's 160 hp for the '05 and '06. the '07 is 161 hp. Please lock.
But instead of doing this, people respond with flames and ____ like that. Since they are responding already, might as well answer the guy.
