Default What a difference 2 hours can make(lowered my box, got rims)

Just got back an hour or so ago from a tire shop, got my car dropped 2 inches, and added on some 17" Manaray Sport VR5 rims (Titanium colored)
I need to take better pictures, but hopefully this'll give a good idea, thanks for those of you who put up with my stupid questions about wheels. These look GREAT, and come on, how many of y'all have Titanium rims, not many that i see. :-P

Damn, you're good, yeah I did...he said the 215's would have been too big with those wheels, and looks like he's right, the 205's are a PERFECT fit, and it handles SOOO much better now. So what do y'all think of the rims? Good choice, gimme some feed-back here, haha.

Give those springs a couple of weeks to settle. They'll drop a little more.
Looks good though...........sweet rims!

Right on, thanks Gary, the guy at the shop said something about them not settling bc they're not coil-overs? Maybe I heard him wrong, but yeah...i'm really happy with the rims and look and the HANDLING. Man it rips through the turns now, makes me wish it was a wee-bit faster

I think the 1-2 finger wheel gap drop is ideal. I hope my Teins sit as nice as that, I'm sure they will.

I've got 215/40/15s... they're Suh-wheat. good choice not getting a bigger rim... anything bigger than 17 is retarded on the xB

Fireballfish Anything bigger then a 17in rim is retarted on an XB. OH what do you have 15's, Wow you really broke the bank for them, You should of just kept your hubcaps on.

WHAT the hell is that supposed to mean. He's right anything bigger than 17's just don't give you enough tire between the road and rim for a nice ride. 17's are the perfect compromise. WAY TO GO be HAPPY

Over 17 doesn't leave enough room between road and rim???

and his comment was directed to the person who said

I've got 215/40/15s... they're Suh-wheat. good choice not getting a bigger rim... anything bigger than 17 is retarded on the xB
215/40-15 !?!?

I don't care if you 14" wheels or 26" wheels. 215/40 tires means you have exactly 3.359" inches of tire from rim to road.

In whose world would those 15" wheels with the 3 1/3" of rubber ride any better than 18's/19's with the same 3.359" of rubber????

The ride feel is the same.

Not to mention that 215/40-15 tires are WAY UNDERSIZED for the xB. Those tires have a diameter of 21.71", stock diameter is 23.67". That's going a full TWO INCH difference SMALLER than stock. That's gotta look like Radio Flyer wheels stuck inside those big wheel wells. Not even to mention that with undersized tires, your odometer is racking up mileage a good percentage faster than you're actually using it.

If the debate is about ride feel, you said
for a nice ride
, that's all fine and good - but not if you're going to debate that a 40% aspect ratio on a 15" tire is more comfortable on a 15" than a 40% ratio on a 18" (and the tread width is also equal). You can't debate the two when they're THE SAME!!!!

BTW, if you're using a 15" wheel and 215 rubber... your CORRECT aspect ratio should be 215/50-15, not 215/40. It's still smaller than stock, but at least it's only .28".

Windowtint all I can say is BROTHER ARE YOU HIGH! where did you come up with some of your specs. and logic. Facts are Facts the softest ride would be the 15inchers, the sidewall is taller. The shorter the sidewall the stiffer the ride pure facts and 17 inch 40 profile is the best of both worlds ride is still acceptable but handles like a SOB. 18's and 19's look great they just compromise on the ride quality but that's a personal choice. BOXES RULE ECHO'S DROOL PS the profile on the 15" OEM'S is 60 not 50 anyway and the 215/40/15 is obviously a Typo everyone knows he meant 17" . That is one of the sizes for the Box in a 17" rim
