lifted xb
ha, that seems like something Nitro or Burton would do to boost promotions....im sure we'll see a few snowboard xB's this winter....i pewrsonally am hooking up my ride "snowboard" style, having snowboarded for 10 years now, im gonn ahve a lot of winter inspired mods on my car...
hell ya dude! I live in alaska so that's a guarantee! While on the subject, who would you recommend for a roof rack? yakima? What other snowboard mods are there? (Don't know if this is one, but I'll have to get studs!
)
Yeah the Yakima System i have is a complete set for cars without a factory rack. 4 Q Towers, 4 Q Clips (Q121) , 2 58" load bars will complete the set for installation on an xB. It will mount above where the doors shut. And it's easy to install and take out. The Rack looks nice. No drilling necessary. I got the whole package for 250 shipped to my house through www.class-cycles.com . But they raised their prices as of recently. It's now 282 shipped which isn't bad for the rack system and the big powderhound snowboard/ski carrier.

You'll want the Q Towers and clips for the xB. They attach to the door jambs, actually don't "attach" more like grab. Solid as hell and easy to take on and off. After you get the main rack, there are tons of attachment accessories. And you can always buy new towers to fit your future cars. I've moved mine several times from car to car to car...
I'm sure it would look cool, but they better trailer it around. I'd like to see 108 HP turning a big tire. Especially with the new found gear ratio of healthy meat. Just putting 18's on my car slowed it down immensly. And I've 4 cylinder jeeps before with bigger tires. One had a set of wide 31's on it (so not MONSTER huge) and it wouldn't get out of it's own way. Topped out at about 60-65 MPH, and you could forget all about using 5th gear because it couldn't turn the wheels any faster than in 4th without the torque.
........But I'd still like to see the pics.

I got a funny story about big meats and 4cyl wranglers.
My buddy used to own one (4" lift & 31s or 33s I think) and he let me drive it a few times. This one particular time (the first time) I was on the interstate tooling along when I came upon an onramp with a car coming up onto the interstate. Now, at this time I was used to driving my integra which was quite a bit zippier than the wrangler. Anyways...so there I was, on the outside lane, traffic to my left, and a bit of space infront of me...so I though I'd speed it up to get out of the merging car's way, so I downshift and step on the gas..................nothing, no acceleration, the RPMs went up, but the speedo didn't. Downshift again......................nothing, R's go up more, still no acceleration
Moral of the story, big meats and tiny motors don't mix.

They would also learn what "lethargic" really means.

Then you get a Scion!!!
The only car I've ever had that was worst than my box was an old Luv 4X4 mini truck. But it was a 4 speed and I could rev it to the redline when I had too.
My 4 cylinder Wrangler on stock tire and rims will get up and walk away from my box plus I get 21mpg running around town. The gutless wonder used to get 28mpg. Now with the 18s on it the mileage dropped down to 25.
Man that sucked, I've never driven such a lethargic vehicle in my life!

Thanks for the laughs though griecos.
I did sell a Mercedes a few days after I got the XB. I couldn't pass up the offer. (kind of like your Dad?) But I've still got my 500 SL that I'll sell to you cheap.
I wanted a new company vehicle to haul equipment around in that would get attention. It works for that and as a rolling billboard. I looked at a Mini but it didn't have any room in it. The Magnum has poor visibility, and there are too many bad drivers that you have to watch out for here.
As for selling it, I have been seriously considering that option. Although, since I haven't even had it five weeks I was hoping that it might get better mileage after brake in. I have started looking into putting a supercharger on it though.
If it got anywhere near the mileage that they claim I probably wouldn't mind it as bad. But that was one of the reasons in buying it for a lot of us.
Maybe I should be thankful since the El Camino it replaced gets 15 mpg if I baby it and 9 mpg if I drive like it wants. And I never have to worry about those exhibition of speed or street racing tickets in the XB!!!
But after reading through the posts, it seems like only 30-40% of the people get the mileage that they should.
I'm sorry if the fact that I'm not satisfied with my box crushed your ego.
Guess you're lucky that you were able to get one that gets great mileage! Come on griecos act your age, not like the kids you work with at Baltusrol. Like yourself I'm here to find out what we can do to improve our boxes. But sometimes we tend to whine about things we don't like.
Sorry people, I hope this won't start a flame war. I really enjoy reading all the posts from everyone else here.
PS griecos... I have remote start and I love it. I went with the Viper 560XV. I used to have one on my Lincoln and it's been a few years since then. I missed it. Go for it, you'll like it, security and convenience.

Here's a fake photopshop'd lifted xB from the ToyotaNation Forum. They agreed in the following thread that a lifted xB "would be sick."
