Default My AEM CAI got loose and I had no air filter

I not sure if its cuz of the nasty design or the install but I opened my hood to show a friend the intake and my JIC strut brace and there it was the top pipe had popped out from the center piece and it was sucking air without the use of an air filter. Can someone PLS tell me if there would be any short or long term damage to any part of the engine? so far there seems to be no problem with performance and none of the dash lights have turned on.

you'll be fine. If you sucked up anything bad you would have known by now. Since it parted at the bypass you will be fine. Do you know how long you been without the filter?

My AEM has been making a knocking sound lately like it hits something when I come to a brake. What JIC strut bar do you have? I just put the titanium one on 10 minutes ago.

As for the missing intake filter .....if you had it done at the dealership then you should take it back there and complain about a faulty install and have them replace it. If not then all you can do is go buy a new one or just go get a K&N...their filters rock.

I have the Tanabe Hyper-medallion exhaust and the Injen intake. The power really comes on between 3-5k rpm, depending what gear I'm in. I have a 5 speed also an bought the Injen intake thru the group buy.
