ingalls stiffy etd. Not really gaining any hp, but it supplies more torque to the wheels by losing less torque due to engine movement. It brings more torque from the crank to the wheels.

some exhaust work (header, spipe etc) will add a couple horses but honestly, it won't make you any faster and the only way you'll see these gains is on a dyno. i suggest going for some suspension work instead.

yup. I say the only way to make your car faster on the "cheap" is to go hardcore on reducing weight... of course, this makes your car very impractical as a daily driver/friend mover

be smart, go nitrous.
you can get a decent 75 shot wet kit for 500 bucks, not my choice but its an option.

i think the best bet would be an intake and it will add a nice sound to the car too but other then that ... tubro or supercharger is the only thing that I know that will increase your hp the most. Look under cold air intakes and there is dyno numbers for you.

cai's are nice and easy hp gains, plus the sound is an extra plus!

maybe for added power, i know some of my friends (not necessarily that smartest thing in to do) take out their spare tires... but i think at that point its more of a placebo effect.

CAI will not increase hp. AT MOST we are talking about 7 of so and that is with the best performing intake of all. Granted, that 7hp is at full throttle in the high rpms while costing you hp at the low rpms. Those 7hp will probably not even be noticable, and like I said, its when the rpms are nice and high. Don't get fooled and conned into the hype. With the tC, intakes are for sound and show. Bottom line.

bottom line is you have to spend big $$ for hp gains, supercharger or turbo

heck no - you have a battery for that. That is to make hp the cheap way.

IMO, dont mod at all except tires and some suspension stuff. You may gain some HP on bolt-ons but even that can end up costing a lot and you probably wont even notice much as a daily driver. (I'm also a poor college student). Save your funds and get something better in the future.

...everyone that has bought trd stuff..is unhappy..i would rather sped acouple of extra buks an dget the extra hp...i have alphawerk header, injen sr set-up not cai set-up...from header back driver fx drag race exhaust with no cat big resy...i know tehy say stock 160 but in reality everyone knows its about 138-139 to the wheels..i had mine dynoed with those mods with my hp evo 18x8 wheels and dynoed at 166whp and 170 ft lbs.....

so just my opinion but its wort hthe extra money..but half teh time i think trd is alil more money then some of teh "nam brand" stuff.....

I have the s/c and have nothing to complain about. The mount breaking was bs and they fixed that for the 07. Other then that you are spending 3k on the s/c, $90 pulley, $300 methanol, and $500 for the eman ult. Lets call that $4k total. For that you are getting a 235whp+ car ....doesnt sound bad to me. Add a header, intake and exhaust and you are looking at 255whp+ ....add a bit more boost you can add 20whp+

anything that lets the car breath better adds up a lil here and there. the low torque loss is put to higher rpm hp so you cant feel a loss either unless say you punch it at every light maybe. no one piece gains high power n/a. it's when you combine forces to creat a greater evil

That and people love just worrying about peak hp. Instead of looking at how the powerband changed ....they are just worried about max power.
