Default keyless entry /// help

hey everyone,

alright well i just got back from running to the post office to get my new tanabe df210's and well i park my car in front of the house and press the lock button on my keyless entry. I didn't notice the lights go off so i went back and checked if it was locked and it wasn't. I did this a few times by unlocking and trying to unlock with no luck. So i thought i would get my spare remote that i have and still its the same problem, it can unlock but doesn't lock on BOTH sets of keys. I thought it cant be the batteries since both sets can unlock... Is there any solution to this or do i need to give the dealer a call already after having my baby for only a llittle more than a month.

i hope its something not to obvious

thank you for any help

I'm a complete newb to these cars, and in fact don't even have one yet but, could it be some sort of safety feature? Like not all the doors are shut, or a window's down?

Boy have I had experience like this.... the answer may be a simple one
one of your doors is open.
If one of the doors is open the car will not lock, it'll unlock, but not lock. I've found my car unlocked so many times b/c of this. check the doors (open and close all of them, including the rear hatch).
If you open and close all of them and it's still not locking, then get it checked.

Yep, check all doors and the rear hatch. It happens to me all the time.

Travisxx, didja notice a light on in the front; the one that shows a door or the hatch to be open? If not, there might be another problem -- one that your dealer would help you with. At least, on my '06 if any of the doors or the hatch is open, the light stays on and the clicker won't make the locks lock . . . .

hey guys thanks for the responses... and it solved the non-locking issue.

apparently i really have to slam my cargo door for it to be fully closed, so that solved this issue.

thanks everyone
