Default High Mileage (Over 100K miles) xBs ???

Just curious if any of you have had any major problems requiring to spend some $$$!!! I have a long way till I get to 100K miles but I'd like to be prepared in case something happens...
BTW, are there any Boxes with over 100K miles???

Yes you did invest on something good. I've always had my hard set on the xB and after 2 years of saving up I finally got one 3 weeks ago!! And I'll have this car until it's ready to be passed down to my children. 1500 miles till my next oil change!!

what about timing belts, when should they be changed on these cars before they break and cause damage to the head?

I'm curious on how much it runs to have the valves adjusted. I think they need to be done every 40 k or so. Anyone know for sure?

I read about it in the service manual. I guess it's a recommended service around 40K but if no one is having it done we'll just see how long one can go without having the valves checked/adjusted.
I was starting to worry about having it done cause I'm at 33K. Yeah, I know that is wussy compared to everyone else's miles totals.

never heard of a valve adj.

with the intake being VVT-i that woudlnt be necessary.

i would like to know though.

BMW M motors need valve adj. every 30K or Inspection I or II eservice i know. and they are also Variable valve timing as well

I've always bought american cars and for a change i bought a brand new 06 xb as my first import. I'm never going back to american junk again ;] i also plan on keeping my box for a while because it's fun as hell to drive. after 15 months, i'm up to about 13,600 miles on her with several road trips lined up for this year - maine, new hampshire, back to washington dc, atlantic city, montaulk point (the end of long island) and a couple of other places ;]]]

i am also very happy to know my $16,700 in cash (after taxes, etc) went to an awesome car.

I was thinking about this on my walk to work - i can assume that the xb's here with very high milage are in areas where there is a TON of highway / interstate travel. how many people have high miles via stop and go traffic? i live in time square and the miles on my box come from about 70% stop/go driving and the rest from highway miles.

just wondering if people that go through stop n go traffic have had any problems with their boxes.... im only at like ~13k miles so im wondering how others have fare'd.
