Default gas light

My orange warning for low gas came on when the gas was at last line on the meter. usually this light comes on when the gas is extremely low. Is this just a scion tc precaution thing for teenage drivers?

that light means to get gas in the next 20 or so miles or your butt will be walking bbut no its not a teenage driver feature. its just a reminder for all that gas is low

No, it's a "you're an idiot for letting your tank get this low" precaution thing for everyone.

you can push it more... but that's not really the point.

the point is.. "HEY YOU! LOOK AT ME! I NEED GAS ASAP!"

so.. yeah.. fill up asap.

Yeah thats about right. All I know is it might be designed to warn you with more time but atleast in my car I can't use the last 2/3 of a gallon. When I first got the car a ran out of gas. After that i filled up for 13.8 gallons on a 14.5 gallon tank....I normally fill up around 13 gallons as the light comes on...anyone else's car like this?

I didn't think it was advised to let it go that low...somethin like filling up around half tank is best.

In every other car I've ever owned (theres been quite a few) the light comes on at the E mark ... I was surprised when it came on so soon in the tC.
