Default Used or New?

I am torn between going new or used for my Scion xB.

I can get a used 2004 with leather, sunroof, 6 CD, subwoofer and 6,250 miles for $14K.

A new 2005, of course, is more, but I don't necessarily need all the bells and whistles. You never know when you go used. Was it abused during the break-in? Drag racing mini coopers, etc.?

It seems like a good deal. So, I think I will take my chances, just need re-assurance guidance from the Scion Lifers.

Thanks for your reply.

I would go with the used one, personally. How abused could the car be?

Only 6250 miles used .... One Owner? Will remainder of factory warranty remain intact? was an extended warranty purchased by the original owner?

If 2 out of 3 answers are yes to those questions, get the used.

Still not sure, spend the $15 and get a vehicle history report.

Check the car over to make sure it hasn't been through a bodyshop. If you haven't driven a new one yet, do it. Then drive this used one. The factory warranty is transferable. If you were buying new, and this used car is the same color and transmission you'd choose then buy the used car. I'm all for more car for less money.
But, If it's not EXACTLY what you would buy new - don't do it. You will NEVER be completly happy with it.
