No Idea... Could be that Toyota changed them in their higher end cars that would use a unit like the AVN5495.

Does anyone know where to download the updated steering wheel control software. Only the mode button is working for me and in the funtion options in my CD8445 there is a place where you can upload new SW control software from memory stick or CD. Can anyone help with this?

You DONT need to download any software for the CD8445. I have the CD 8445 in my tC just got it had it installed but they didnt connect the wiring for it because they didnt know. But if you read the FIRST POST ON HERE you should have no problems check your wiring again if you installed it yourself.
I connected the wiring myself after i read it and had alil problem with the T-taps they must be pressed really hard for the contacts! BY THE way if you just bought Your CD8445 you might want to upgrade with the NEWER model eclipse came out with CD5000 IM upgrading this week Reason for is because ITS IPOD READY with FULL CONTROL should ask The store where you bought it from if they have AN UPGRADE POLICY where i bought mine they have 60 day upgrade!!

BY THE WAY off the TOPIC anyONE know the TRUE SIZE and depth speakers FOR THE TC????

I installed the stereo myself, and soldered all connections, correctly. The mode button works, but others do not, so I thought maybe a software upgrade would work. Also, I have an xb, so I dont know if the behaviour is different as opposed to the tc. Also, I dont need the new CD5000 since I made a custom charging docking station for my nano in my ashtray. I found on the e-iserv.jp web site an unlinked page for the download of the new toyota.ssw software for the cd8445, but the file is missing. I was hoping someone on here had the toyota.ssw file available.

Smoses,

The brown wires should be on the harness attached to the Eclipse stereo, not in your toyota harness. Hope this helps.

Does the cd8445 have a color screen or is it black and white?

The CD8445 has a blueish white on black background VFD display. Its decent enough.

Thanks. I'm trying to decide between the cd8445 and the Alpine cda-9855 with the PAC SWI-ALP adaptor.

knight,

if it helps, the user interface on the eclipse is much easier than the alpine. It can be tricky to change some of the advanced settings on the alpine. Sound quality should be really similar on the two decks, but if you are running seperate amplifiers with the eclipse, make sure they can handle an 8 volt preamp signal, many can not.

bug,

Good info , thanks. Ive had an '03 Alpine before and liked the fact that you can search for the next music file as you are listening to the current file in mp3. I'll have to see if my fosgate amp can handle the 8v preout for the Eclipse.

I beleive the company Fujitzu Ten (Eclipse) is owned by Toyota. I was wondering , does the avn5435 use a gps antenna with the navigation system? And how does the head unit mount in the space , do you need a install kit? Thanks

That is not a steering wheel control wire, that is the wire that controls when an Amp attached to the system will turn its power on and off. I do not believe that Kenwood units have steering wheel control ability.
