Default Scion is going downhill!!! Post ur opinions!

mods: move this thread as appropriate.

What the hell is wrong with Toyota?!? Why are they not listening to the buyers?

Just look at our lineup:

tC= same design from 2005 to 2009 (maybe 2010)
xA= under powered
xB= same as xA
xB2= wagon shaped tC!
xD= just the remodeled xA

Toyata IQ- as a new model... SERIOUSLY... have you seen the looks... do you think we need any more Questionable looks then what we already have?
Besides how is the IQ in any way appealing to the young generation?

Do any scionlife'rs find the IQ as an appealing car? would you rock it? NO!!!

> why is Toyota making pitiful HP scions???
Look at the competition:
Acura- TL type S
Nissan- Altima 3.5SE and SE-R, Maxima 3.5SE
Mazda- Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed 6
Subaru- powerful as usual
even Saturn- Solstice Redline
Honda- new accords 0-60= mid 5's seconds
BMW- 300hp twin turbo 335I's are selling like hotcakes
Chevy- 260Hp cobalt
GM- all the SRT models
Mitsu- EVO and 260hp eclipse

Scion needs to see the obvious:

- most all the scion owners (especially tC owners) are seeking Forced Induction!! Hint Hint Toyota- WE NEED MORE POWER!!!
- the fact that most all scion owners are so power oriented should tell toyota that the younger generation seeks power!!!

Toyota: look at the market!!!
People dont care about the fuel economy--- they want POWER!!!

all the manufacturers are releasing some kind of high performance models, so why the hell is Toyota not getting the hint?!?!?!?!

why are scions so whack when it comes to power???

its obvious scion owners want more power; more sexy, not toy looking, designs.
we need more quality, not more rattles!!!

and we dont mind paying for that!!!

How many of us dont mind shelling out 24-26 Grand for a 300HP sport coupe (possibly AWD or RWD) that does not rattle like a children's toy after 50 miles put on it!

Im sorry but scion needs to step there game up!!!

KIDD

scion has tried to cut it with fuel saving cars that have looked different. what the young generation wants is cheap horsepower!

not just the young generation zac, but everyone is seeming to go for high performance cars such as maxima 3.5 SE , TL type-S, Mazdaspeed 3, etc.

no one but a handful of people care about how gas friendly their car is. people want power!!!

I resent that.

Do you also realize that those cars you listed are much more expensive after all the state fees are placed on them? Scion is the entry line to Toyota, like how Toyota is sorta the entry level to Lexus. If anything adding more power = more money which will chase away young drivers looking for a good, first new car.

like I said... we dont mind paying more if we know we will get more performance.

yea those cars are a lot more than ours' but they are selling like hotcakes! and that should tell toyota something... people like high performance vehicles- even if they have to shell out top dollars for them

Im not saying to get rid of the existing line-up,

just saying scion should offer more performance oriented trims of the existing models.

like a factory forced induction option and a sport package of some sort

preach preacher preach!!!

alright heres my .02

the tC is one of the best looking sport coups for under 20K on the market, i believe that and most people i know believe that.

my friends with srt-4's and and RSX-s and GLIs all like the looks of the tC but laugh at the performance

it took me alot of money to make my rs1 stand up to cars of that of my friends, now i know that there is a difference between a tC and a rsx-s but like what was said owners of tCs have been requesting more power for years now, if anything there should be a turbo sport edition of the tC

scion is slowing dropping the ball

Who is "we" though? Most of the time, when a teenager gets a new car it's going to be paid by mommy and daddy, not the teen. Most sensible parents aren't going to let their teen drive a car with 200hp+ and they're not going to shell out more than $20k if the parent is generous.

Toyota/Scion is much more geared towards MPG, obviously, and there are enough aftermarket parts to make your car go faster. Plopping down money for a turbo will put you close to one of those cars you listed. The only difference is that you can't finance that turbo and have to pay out of pocket.

i am proud to say that i bought my rs1 with help from no one.

(all the cars listed by my friends there parents bought)

i struggled and still do to make the payments and understand that not many teenagers are going to be able to buy a tC for 24k+ but like i said if there was a sport edition or if TRD offered a turbo kit that had sufficent gains, i believe that scion would be respected alot more and that they will see an increase in sales

I know but dont you think a lot more scions will be sold if the buyers had more powers in their cars and a warranty (piece of mind) to accompany the high power they will produce? thats why all these cars are selling so good.

im not saying stop the existing line-up, just offer more power options... thats all!

X2... Mine's all on me as well, so is my brother's, no daddy or mommy involvement!

Scions will sell ALOT more if they had higher performance!!! and this can be proved- look at the amount of TL type-s's, MS3's, SE-R's, SRT's on the road! that just shows how much people want performance

.. not if they cost more for it..
you are comparing apples to bananas...

if you wanted a car with more performance... you should've bought another car.

toyota IS listening to the buyers.. and listening to the economy... and are making decisions accordingly.

how is it appealing? "sporty" little compact car that gets good mileage?

supposedly going to compete against the backordered/long waitlisted Smart car...
(oh yea.. those cars are selling quite well may i add and i have been a fan of both cars for YEARS.)

and yea.. the "competition" you mentioned? seriously... you're comparing a below $20K car with one that's well above it.. not even the same class to even compare with.

you might as well compare a ford fiesta with a porsche GT.

not talking from a POV of a "begger"

tbh the tC looks just awesome... but it will sell a lot more if it had a trim that offered more HP (forced induced). thats all im saying.

also if we didn't have just 3 cars in our lineup, scion will be more reputable!

i would like it if my 06xb didnt sound like it was 20years old. i would like it if my xb had more power. i would like it if the carpet wasnt fraying around the corners. i would like it if the wind blowing a shopping cart into my car didnt dint the side of my car. i would like it if the paint was more resistible to the road so i didnt have a silver/gray poke-o-dot front bumper. if the interior components didnt rattle lose when im driving down the road. if my seat didnt turn from black to grey from me getting in and out of my car. but hey i got what i paid for.

but the idea your going to make a more affordable car than the one i purchased is a scary thought. what problems well it have?

... and how many Scions do you see on the road a day?

dunno about you.. but i see them EVERYWHERE..
reputable? i think very much.

selling well? i think so..
Scion making any mistakes?..

hmm.. lemme think.... thousands and thousands of cars sold...

i don't think so.

now if you're comparing recent sales? come on... compare it to the rest of the other cars out there... not many cars are being sold.. period...

why? the economy... just because you believe one company is "messing up"... that you can say ohh! why isn't so-and-so selling that well??

well, all of them aren't selling well..

as far as the 3 car lineup? i got rumors on my end that will change.. are people ready for it? maybe..

but well.. i more think, the ECONOMY isn't ready.

the reason i say that they are a competition is b/c the amount of people that have modded their cars for more performance.

one more thing... people dont mind shelling out more if they are getting performance... and quality

like i said a few posts back... give it more power (at least +100 HP), better build quality (not just rattle boxes), better options (audio upgrades, leather, better creature comforts) and price it at 24-26G's and a lot of people will buy it... just like they are buying higher end trims of other car models.
