I know the lurkers in the 2nd gen tC forum already know all about this car. It’s a RS 7 tC owned by user SkillFreeJake. He’s got a few things going on here that make his car stand out from the crowd. But what really caught my attention was this.

Here I was thinking the Katana grip shifter was kind of a neat mod, when this one shows up. His car is an automatic, so this isn’t actually as bad of a decision as it would be for a car with a clutch. It looks cool though, which, really, is what SkillFreeJakes car is all about. In his words, “I’m going for more form that function since I show my car regularly and I’m not really the one to race everywhere. It’ll sound and look fast, but it’s not. lol.”

For being “skill free,” he’s certainly put a lot of work into it. The tC rolls on Klutch Sl14 18″ wheels with chromed lug nuts (of course). It’s been lowered on a set of Twin S-Tech Springs as well. The result is a good looking stance that probably isn’t hell to drive around the city on either. There’s no crazy camber here.

Since this is more show car than street car, the performance stuff has been largely glossed over in exchange for lots of cool lighting and interior mods. The Spec-D tailights in particular look great when compared to the stock tails. Plastidipped front lips and mirror covers match the black wheels and interior too. It comes together in a simple way. Well, simple until you realize there’re monitors in the rear-seat headrests. He calls it “hater vision.”

To that I say let the haters hate. Jake is doing it right.
