SEMA 2012: “Minty FReSh” Wins the Tuner Challenge—Do You Agree?

For the record, I think the best man won here. As much as I liked the Song’s hyper-aggressive GT, and Toca’s Carbon Stealth FR-S—the blue suspension bits matched the roll cage—I think Basselgia’s “Minty FReSh” just blew the competition out of the water. My guess is that the classic interior put him over the top.

But the real question here? Why the hell are there three trophies? I mean, would you want a third place trophy in a three-person competition? Personally, I wouldn’t want to a big reminder that I’d come in last. Hardly the kind of thing you want to display in the shop: “Yeah, that competition was awesome. We totally whiffed it.” Seems like it would make more sense to just name a winner and call it good. But I think all three cars were sick—and I still would like to see Song’s creation on the track.
