One of a Kind: ThaKingsKid’s “Low-La” tC

When most people think of a “modded Scion,” they tend to fall back on the typical assumptions about import car customization. The huge wing, the massive drop, the Yakima racks, those things all pretty much to be expected. Starting with the interior (in a tC anyway, xB’s are a different story) seems backwards. I think that’s why I like the Low-La build so much.

The change is pretty drastic. You go from the dark interior of a stock Scion tC to Paisley prints and… A katana-grip shifter? Is this a thing now? The whole interior of this car is just special. I’d also like to point out that this guy did all the fabric laying and console painting himself. Not only that, but he learned how to do all that stuff on this car. This is the kind of thing that makes people feel lazy.

An unlucky accident with a hit and run driver put the car outside of the spotlight for a while, but it’s back with even more changes. The “Crown Royal” shift boot is my favorite bit. Also the exterior got an overhaul to match that already unique cabin. Want more? Check out the build in it’s carefully documented entirety here.
