Rumor: Scion One Make Race Series in the Works?

Considering the success of the FR-S and it’s strong reputation as a balanced, easy to drive, sports car, this doesn’t seem like a bad idea. Toyota could easily take a page from Mazda’s playbook, and promote their coupe through competition. They’re pretty similar in both concept and execution. Small, light, inexpensive, those three things are the fertilizer for a grassroots racing effort.

Moreover, Scion TRD Griffon “concept” is basically the track version of the GT 86. A version of that car with less carbon fiber would be a perfect for such a series.

All I know is that such a racing series would probably be a lot of fun to watch and even more fun to participate in. Here’s to hoping this rumor rings true.
