The BRZ Gets an LS2 Engine Swap

The guys at Weapons Grade Performance ahve officially swapped a LS into the well-regarded Subaru BRZ. They’ve dubbed it: “The BRZ06”.

According to the article on lsxtv, the swap was fairly simple. They had to fab their own mounds and oil pan, but aside from that, there was barely any structural modification to the car. The only things that don’t work any more are the electronic power steering and the tachometer. Power steering isn’t really that necessary considering the car weighs less than 2900 pounds and is rear wheel drive.

That low weight is what makes this swap so alluring. The LS2 they’ve dropped in there makes double the horsepower the BR-Z originally does and way more torque as well. Weapons Grade Performance also upgraded the brakes, tires, wheels… They’ve even upgraded the gearing to a 3.73.
