Toyota Building Rally Ready FR-S

The car will be built by TMG as a part of their customer motor sport program. Essentially, any teams wanting to run cars in the R3 specification of WRC can now buy a spec FR-S from Toyota to compete. They’re calling it the CS-R3. It’ll have a six-speed manual, modified engine, better brakes, and all the other goodies required to make the car legal for it’s class.

Until now, the only car available from TMG for this purpose has been the Yaris. While that’s pretty awesome in it’s own right, the FR-S might be naturally better suited for this type of duty than than the Yaris is.

No word on price, but we’ll likely start seeing these in competition around 2015. I’ve got to say, I like this new Toyota. They’re well on their way to being cool again.
