Toyota has released photos of another FT-86 Open Concept. This one is headed to the Tokyo Motor Show, and is an update to the original white FT-86 Open Concept that debuted in Geneva back in March.

When we first dropped eyeballs upon these images, we breathed sighs of relief. We see this “Flash Red” car as a sign that Toyota is getting closer to announcing the production Scion FR-S convertible. What makes this concept even more indicative of a future production version is that Toyota went through the trouble of making this car right-hand drive with an automatic transmission. Geneva’s FT-86 Open Concept was a stick-shift, left-hand-drive car.

Recent reports about the Scion FR-S Convertible’s production plans have been as inconsistent as explanations surrounding the JFK assassination, so we’re going to look at this Tokyo concept as a sign that a four-seat, open-top FR-S is, more likely than not, in the cards for production.
