Toyota GT86 (Scion FR-S) Sedan Concept to Debut at Dubai Motor Show
It would appear Subaru has lifted its heels a bit on the Scion FR-S sedan project slowdown because next week a Toyota 86/GT86/Scion FR-S sedan concept is planned for an unveiling at the Dubai Motor Show.
Reports say the sedan will offer a 3.9-inch stretch to the coupe’s wheelbase for more rear-seat passenger room, but the four-door will have to settle for the same 200-horsepower boxer four found in the two-door. There are rumors of the sedan coming in a hybrid variant with up to 268 horsepower and a 15-percent gain in fuel efficiency over the standard coupe.
The rumors continue by saying there will be a production-spec version shown to the public at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
Even if this news is a Dubai Motor Show Facebook fluke, we welcome any glimmer of hope for more FR-S goodness. Enjoy the gallery below to tide you over until images of the FR-S sedan concept hit your eyeballs next week (fingers crossed).
