Default HELP...burning serious oil!

Im having a pretty rough run with my 2nd tc. First, the wheel bearings went after one month, the clutch master cyl goes out the next month, had to replace the whole clutch 4 months in, i just had to replace all four tires and now onto the biggest issues.

My tc is burning a crap ton of oil and leaking too. lately ive been smelling burnt oil and gas, and i kept checking the oil level and sure enough, its leaking about 2 quarts in between oil changes. The car still runs fine, idles a tad rough but barely noticeable. I pulled the dipstick tube out and i didn't see smoke so no blow-by. Smoke does come out oil cap on the valve cover. Smoke will also pour out of the exhaust when i get on it a little. My friend said oil is leaking from the timing cover and i can see a bit of oil pooling on the supercharger underneath the shaft but not enough to cause the issues im having. It doesnt help that the bearings might be going out in the supercharger too. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

depends on exactly where its coming from. if oil is leaking from the timing cover, its not gonna cause any issues as far as smoke from the exhaust. unfortunately, out motors have a tendancy to burn oil. its a big problem with the 2azfe motor itself. i have no idea as to why this failure occurs, but we do a few motors a month due to oil consumption. the only way around it is to replace it. i hate to be the bearer of bad news for ya, but this may be ur case.

Martin it could be the sc seals since the supercharger has been making a crap ton of noise and there is oil pooling on it. Could that cause the smoke in the valve cover and smoke coming out of the exhaust?

it could if its getting pushed into the throttle body. it could be a combination of the motor burning oil and the charger.

there shouldnt be pooling of oil that means its def got a shot seal...
and you said you have smoke come out when you open the oil cap right? thats normal and actually stupid to do cuz i know every 2az ive done that with shoots oil out of there hahaa, a better check is to pull off the pcv hose on the side and check for smoke.

what he said, i would first run a compression test its quick and easy to do, then if all is well its likely your s/c

Hell, my 2AZ is stock and I just had to add almost a full quart @ 1200 miles on the oil change... 200k miles, always taken care of only started using oil after I ran seafoam thru the crankcase..

any ideas how to slow down the comsumption?

What weight oil are you running? If youre running some of the eco-crap (0w20, 5w20), go to a 5w30, odds are itll burn quite a bit less.

Hey guys just as an update, i pulled the piping off the supercharger and as expected, they were drenched in oil. So on the bright side, the motor still seems fine but on the bad side, the supercharger has blown seals and maybe bearings to but i cant confirm that :/.... Any ideas which route i should take?

find a place that can repair the charger, Ditch the charger, or replace it. Really the only options =/

I would get smoke when my cat went bad. Are you throwing any codes yet?
