Hey guys, I'm looking to put a CAI on my Corolla 1.8L, only problem, they don't make a bolt on kit for my car, without an arm and a leg cost is there any way to get an intake on this engine, and still be able to pass inspection (legally), also looking for a decent sounding muffler for an engine this small, want something with the tuner sound, without the overly obnoxious whining the cheaper mufflers cause from a 4 cylinder engine, any suggestions, input, opinions, and DIY help is 1000000% welcome! Thanks!

 

I don't think I've ever come across a CAI that was inspection legal..so I'm going to go with a no...have you tried an actual Corolla forum? A quick google search also pulled this up...

I have seen that, but wasn't sure because every one I find on eBay and amazon seem to be misleading and are for the s model only which is a 2.0 that one seems to be correct, they also, have a weapon r model, but I was not aware that they weren't inspection legal in these vehicles, I had one on an old euro and as long as they were vehicle specific they'd pass inspection, but then again, this must be a different ball game
