of course if you wanted the stock hieght of a Highlander on your Camry. I seen similar vehicles that share the same basic platform for their SUV AWD counter part.

Mitsubishi Lancer (non Evo) - Outlander
Corolla - Rav 4
Civic - CRV
350Z - Murrano
and so on....

sorta reminds me of that new ford ad...."fusion challange" where they say C/D invited some readers to test the AWD Fusion vs FWD Camry and Accord and asked them "which one handled better?" and of course the vast majority said "Ford".....geeze...i wonder why.

good job ford on unfair comparisons and misleading ads

Also ford is reporting its biggest loss ever last year. I think it was a cool 12 BILLION. And so I am not thread jacking an AWD camry would be cool as hell.

its called the Daihatsu Altis, im not sure if it has our 3.5L V6 or not but the platform of the new gen camry supports an AWD system. i wonder if toyota feels the heat from the fusion AWD with lowered sales of the camry, would they consider bringing over an AWD camry for the states

In the JDM, Toyota offers most of its' vehicles with AWD since 1988. The Camry was sold here in AWD from 88-91 under the All-trac moniker. However, Camrys have, with the exception of the 98-01 Gracia(JDM wagon) have never offered the V6 with AWD. Actually, the V6 was discontinued as an option on the Camry in Japan after 2001. Also, the JDM V6 was only 2.5 liters(2MZ-FE) but rated at more hp than the US 3.0.
I've always wanted to take a AWD 88-90 and the engine/transmission out of the Celica GT4(All-Trac) into it as the Celicas used the same block back then.
