Consumer Reports readers' quality perceptions

I don't know where this post ought to go but, in any case, I just read an 'Opinion' report in the NYTimes - and I am now seriously nauseated.

The conclusions drawn are of course not the responsibility of the Times or Consumer Reports, but they ARE the fault of CR's moronic readership.
I've been analyzing survey data for 25 years, and this "study" strikes me as the biggest bunch of bilge I've ever read. "Self-reported" data indeed.
