Drove a 2010 Forester XT today
And I have to say I kinda want haha. For an suv it felt like a car, I kept forgetting I was in a bigger vehicle. The interior felt roomy without feeling way to big (a problem I have had with trucks and suv's I've sat in before)
My only complaint is the XT model doesn't come in a manual and isn't offered in the WRB color like it used to be. I would definitely pick one up as a DD, especially if I had a 2nd car or a project. Has a small amount of aftermarket support so far also.
So far I've driven the new legacy gt and now the forester..all that's left is the WRX haha..my next car is going to be a Subaru for sure just trying to figure out which one
Oh and to save some of you the trouble...
lol

well...it drives like a car because it is one, it is just a impreza with a wagon body and higher ground clearance.
if i could only afford one car, and this one came in a manual, this would be it since i could have turbo, AWD and a pretty fun to drive car all in one. but the lack of a manual or exciting sporty features kills it. makes you have to get a WRX, which isn't a bad thing.

I agree with you 100% on everything you said haha. That being said - I don't care all that much about a manual vs auto..personally I could go either way if I like the car enough. A good sell point for me on an auto oddly enough is the look of the shift gate which I also like on the forester. If the shifter looks ugly forget it. Maybe it's just me being over picky but that's how it is.
I have told myself my next car will probably be a manual (and most likely will) but I definitely found a car in a totally different category than what I typically look at which are usually cars like the WRX, Evo, Z, etc...
I guess when I'm ready to buy I'll probably drive the WRX, Legacy GT and Forester XT back to back to make my final decision..which would probably be the WRX but it never hurts to explore my options..something I really didn't do when I bought the tC.
