Default my 2nd car. an e30 (pics)

picked up this thing yesterday

this will be my 2nd car for track, autox, weekend whatever. still keeping my 2005 scion tc that is my DD.

1985 325e 2.7L

some more pix

im so gonna drop that _____ to the ground

yes original color is burgundy lol

duct taping my elbow intake gives me 50hp.

door ____ing creaks like hell when i open it

seats are from a sport model. has some nice bolsters still.

steering wheel is actually straight in that pic. i need to fix that :o

the cluster

a little dent.

some extra parts

the sport max. i might end up selling these after i get new tires on them. these are too high profile for the bmw. i need lighter wheels :o

if only it shined like that everyday haha

only mods are
brand new sportmax 002 15x8 +0 wheels
KYB shocks
has LSD
sachs stage 1 clutch
paint actually looks worse than it is in the pics. its actually a flat black paint scheme.
motor has a lot of miles (approx 264k) but its bulletproof. it starts up everytime. revs up all the way to a whopping 4.8k LOL.
torque is like 171lbs and hp is at a whopping121HP.
has new shocks and a bunch of bushings replaced. it drives pretty well for a 22 year old car.
this will be my first bmw car. i was going for a porsche 944 for a dirt cheap 2nd weekend track car but everyone one of them had problems with the motor. then this came up on Craigslist for dirt cheap.

problems thats its got....

1. odometer stopped at 258k.
2. driver side window wont go up,
3. AC does not work. im not really worried about that but the previous owner said it just need a freon recharge.

im lookin forward to learning more about the e30 as i go along. but i'll still continue to love my tc the same way.

the best part is the e30 community. theyre pretty well knowledgeable and the parts are so easy to swap in and out. and a $200 will get me 24hp and 28lbs of tq. cant say that about the tc.

Wow, how did you get the paint to shine like the last pic from being primer black in the 1st pic?

e30's are fun cars to own. pretty peppy too and they handle like a dream. your gonna love hunting down parts. they're ridiculously cheap. swap an e36 m3 engine in that sucka!

yeah it was wet. the flat black is kinda fading. it was done with rattle can rustoleum! when wet, it will make it shine like that in the right setting. (dusk)

and im debating selling the wheels. any XB owners want? :p i give you agood price.

I miss bumbers that stick out. Added a good visual element to a lot of cars.
I also miss large sidwall tires and deep set wheels.
Course I'm old too, so there ya go. :D

I would change the timing belt/water pump/tensionier etc, im a big e30 fan, had 3 of them so far, plan on getting another one this fall. they are a blast, cant say they are the best car for holding an on ramp.. but when you drive them, you coem to a turn and you know exactly how fast you can take it by just looking at it. that engine is bullet proof but you are gonna get real sick of the low rpm cut off real quick. there is a ton of support for the s50 engine swap, then its one fast freaking car
