Test and Tune Season Opener.....in the GT500
The Drag season is finally upon us here in the UPPER North West. Took the Shelby out with a minor new setup to test her out. Still running the stock eaton supercharger. The KB 2.8LC still out in the garage in the box after moving here, haven't gotten around to it STILL as of yet. Weather here sucks. The GT500 dosen't see the outside of the garage too often so i haven't made the KB much of a priority.
Anyhow, still need to tweek with the suspension settings a little to get her to squat and hold it in the 60' and more rpms on launch, but for 2 passes she held her own:

control arms, drag shocks or drag package, should help with the squat, wheel hop and traction issues. also warm up the tires i bit more since its the beginning of the season the ground is still cold.

The only thing im missing is a 3rd link upper control arm. There's very minumal wheel hop after the lower arms and solid driveline, but mostly due to suspension shock as i was playing with the stiffness's and realized i still had them set too stiff (fully adjustabe shock and rebound), plus the ET Streets friggin dead hook so i need to launch with more rpm's. Still some fine tuning left to do and i know i can see 1.60's 60', but if i can't get her down to mid 1.50's ill do the upper 3rd. With the trap she's a solid mid-low 11. Not in a hurry to get her there because after 11.49 u get booted until u have a 6 point roll cage at this track

that explains the wheel hop, shocks and 3rd link. the 3rd link is the weak spot they used the same one from the v6 and gt not good when you make 250hp+ more than a v6.
replace the 3rd link and set up the suspension load right and you can get 1.4-.5 60ft times. what rpm are you launching at?

try 18-20 psi for radials. slicks you can go down to 10-12 psi. rpm try 3500-4k. its difficult cuz the ground is cold. they can prep the track but it'll still be cold. in the summer when the ground is warm, track is hot and prepped right you can really lay down some good times.

oh yeah, sorry. Forgot to update you guys. Went out there and vastly improved my 60'. Pulled 1.7's. However a set of badly fouled plugs robbed me of E.T. and MPH on the back stretch. Learning the hard way progressive rate springs are not meant for the track. Switched over to FRPP Cobra Jet springs and a two step. Hoping to start pulling high 1.5's/1.6's on radials. If not a switch to bia's plys are a possibility.
the only bad luck that came from going to the track on friday the 13th was a horrindous bolt slop clunk from the rear suspension. Took a few days to locate the issue. My focus was on the lower control arms and panhard bar. Turned out to be loose lash nuts on the adjustable upper control arm. Just worked it's way loose and let out a couple degrees on the pinion angle. All is well now, reset pinion angle and used locktite on the lash nuts.
Ran into a fellow shelby owner out there. Homie was sporting a polished 3.6LC kenne bell, 804rwhp, running sloppy 11.6's on 325/50-15 M/T ET Streets spinning the entire way down the track. Haha.

Absolutely! Next test and tune is july 15th. They run TnT's sometimes on wednesday nights but those have been too hard to make it to and enjoy in the middle of the week. When the wife and i go we usually go with about 5 cars and run CCCA ET eliminations for the ford drag team out there. I have to warn u though, its very addictive, haha

Latest outing to pac raceways back on the 10th:
This was the last trip out on a suspension setup that has been holding me back on short time.
Changed a few small, but substantial stuff for the next outing on july 15th.
