Finally its coming stateside and with some real power and looks. Me want!!!

FlintMica2005 Sep 15, 2010 05:30 PM

im pretty impressed by it. 247 hp nice!

ack154 Sep 15, 2010 05:32 PM

A) It'll be FWD. Revo knuckle, yes... but still FWD.
B) That 5door body style is awful. This needs to be a proper hatch like the current euro RS & ST.
C) It's about time.

why are you the one affected by double posting lol

ack154 Sep 15, 2010 05:36 PM

Who knows. I did just have one successful single post in another thread though... so this post now is a coin toss.

Sciond Sep 15, 2010 05:51 PM

I like it... 247 hp should be nice

CarbonXe Sep 15, 2010 06:25 PM

ST != RS

The interior looks promising though. Could do without the carbon fiber though.

A potentially good car ruined by making it FWD. Ford's going in the right direction but I will not even think about looking at one for my next vehicle because of it.

Murphys_Law Sep 15, 2010 07:26 PM

if they made it RWD the price would go up and people would complain

Their revoknuckle diff is actually one of the best from what I've heard and read. But ya, you're not going to get away from torque steer with that much HP.

Its already going to be expensive either way. Might as well make it worthy of the price tag making it rwd or awd.

Yes RWD would be nice. But is the European version RWD? No. They arent gonna change it for the states and not Europe. Remember we get the lame editions usually. I like the 2 door. But Alan your one to talk buying a 4 door hatch and complaining about this one having 4 doors. LOL I kid. But I think it will appeal to a bigger market that way. I know it would be more reallistic for me to own with the 4 doors. I mean look how well the 4 door hatches are doing (WRX, STi, MS3, GTI) these are popular tuner cars and the MS3 and GTI are FWD also.

GM did it 3 years ago with the Cobalt SS for 24k$. The turbo cobalt had 260hp in 2008, with a factory warrantied tune option for 290hp for 500$ more. Also in a R&T test it beat out the STi, Evo X, a Lotus, a Lexus ISF and others around a road course. Also holds the N-Ring record for the fastest lap of a factory FWD car. I'm not trying to hate but this car is not that impressive...now bring the RS model over to the US and then Ford has something.

highvoltage1 Sep 17, 2010 10:07 PM

who cares what the Cobalt did it was a POS and makes you wanna barf when you see it. I will say this it was a very good car in NFS: Most wanted though. LOL

Also the RS is awesome but its probably not gonna generate the sales numbers that they are looking for. This one will appeal to more people with the styling, 4 doors, and being lower on HP which will bring down the price. Now this is a start so you may see the RS but I am just happy FORD America is coming around and we get a Focus that will perform and turn heads unlike the bland ones we have had. Its not just a handling and appearance package anymore!

I like it..the front is very aston martin-ish...I'd love to take one for a spin..FWD or not it looks like it'll be a pretty good car..who knows..if it does do well enough (not holding my breath though with the current competition) maybe they'll consider bringing the RS over? Of course, like I just said, not holding my breath.

Keeping my eye out for a review :)

Ace83 Sep 21, 2010 03:47 AM

I like it, still much better than the old one.. rwd would be awesome though. Good one for ford

JDMJim Sep 21, 2010 09:57 PM

if it's cheaper than a Mazdaspeed3, then the car will do fine. who cares if it not an RS? it's a step in the right direction and makes me more interested in Ford and less in Scion

highvoltage1 Sep 21, 2010 11:56 PM

I am sure it will be similar in price. Ford is usually pretty good about price points and being at or under the competition for the most part.
