I still voted vette though. owning a vette is alot like a Harley, lots of things do lots of things better, but in the end, you got a vette and they don't.

My 2 cents don’t get me wrong the Viper is a cool car, but they drop the ball on the interior it looks cheap compared to the exterior, To me it felt to tight and unconvertible inside not that the Vette has much more room then the Viper but it felt more pleasing and it looked like they paid more attention to detail in the interior, plus the Vette has a real American V8 muscle car growl that brings a smile to anyone who hears it, Unlike the Viper it almost sounds like an electric car and this is coming from a V10! And for those people that say that all Vette’s look the same they haven’t seen one up close to appreciate the beautiful lines the Vette has did you know that It took a British 24 hour le mans race car team to be able to make the Viper hang in the turns, and I also heard that they depended on the torque to get out of the turns not handling !!1 And besides what’s the point of having all that 600 HP if you cant put it to the ground let alone take turns and now that I think of it, where is the TEAM ORCA VIPER? Anyway with the money you save buy a 100 shot NOS kit and you will be there with the viper with cash to spare lol but what I love the most of the Vette is that it can own super cars like Ferrari F430GT Aston martin DBR9 and Saleen S7 which cost way more money and do it with the body that looks almost stock!! at the race track. So hypothetically if I were to have a C6 Vette at the parking lot of the Daytona race track and saw the owner of a Ferrari F430GT getting in his car which happens to be parked by my C6 we would both know who has the better car and if he doesn’t think so, his car can try to beat the C6 next year when they will have 2008 24 LE MANS but until then my C6R GT1 RULES!!!! And here is a cool site that says so http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...LF:en%26sa%3DG
Well it's a no-brainer for me; I'd pick the Z06!
I've sat in a Vette, not a Z06, (never driven one) and never driven a Viper.
Lets see some statistics here. The Corvette was made better with the design of Harley Earl and Zora-Arkus Duntov (considered the grandfather of the Vette). The Corvette has been a LeMans winning champion since 1955 when the engine was swapped for a 289 sb V-8. It only costs about 60-65k for a stock Z06. It's challenger's were the Mercedes 300SL and the Shelby Cobra. Wait till either 09' or 10' when the 700hp Blue Devil Vette comes out and then you add a supercharger to THAT!
The Viper was designed by Shelby legend Caroll Shelby and Ford Mustang Legend Lee Iacocca. The Viper has been lucky to win a few LeMans wins but I can never consider Dodge to be an American car company anymore because it is under the ruling of Daimler-Chrysler Benz. A GTS Viper costs about 90k-95k or so.
The Ford GT (based off of the Ford GT-40) is powerful enough to beat a Ferrari F430 in it's class today and even beat Enzo's Ferrari in 1966 with a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place win in LeMans. But for $150k which is worth a Viper and Z06 combined; who really wants one other than to stand out in a crowd.
So for me, I could save the extra $30k and either spend the money to upgrade the Z06 to a good 800-900hp or blow it on a $30k Evo or STI. Also remember that the STI and Evo have AWD while the Vette and the Viper are RWD. Even the Audi's have AWD and they've been dominating the European tracks because of the Audi R10 diesel AWD race car. This places the Vette and the Viper at a disadvantage in terms of steering.

the Blue Devil, by the way, will be released as the Corvette SS and will come with a supercharged escalade v-8 making 600+ horses, but i highly doubt 700. The new viper will be introduced next year and it will have 605hp. the viper will cost *probably* $115k+ while the Corvette SS will be in the $100k range.

Wow more of yall voted viper then I thought. To me I don't care if a Viper is more of a Headturner. LOL. When you ask most people what is Americas Best Muscle Car. They would say Corvette. Look at the fact Ford Built a Shelby GT500 with more power and torque. It was supposed to have the vette beat. But they ran the test and again Vette won in every catergory. They took the Porsche Carrera GT and Ferrari and put it up against the Vette, once again Vette came out on top. Except they said the vettes interior was cheasy. LOL. Imagine taking a Vette and Supercharging it. WOW thats some nut. Has anyone heard of the Lingenfelter Corvette. It did a 1.97 Second 0-60 and a 9 second 1/4 mile. Now thats power.
One word: Lingenfelter!
725 hp out of a twin turbo'ed 427!! You gotta be kidding me!
I like the viper gts' styling. The original blue with white racing stripes down the center has been my favorite since its emergence in late '95! but has anyone actually driven a viper?
straight from the factory the viper handles horribly and has insane amounts of wheel hop when trying to get on it! The corvette is a far superior car in my eyes. Its the true, original, American super-car...

I was sure I was getting a Viper in 2011, but it might be a Shelby 'Stang now.
The newest 'Vette is the best since 1969, but still not my cup 'o tea.
As for interiors - ALL the US automakers need a shot of caffeine here. They all suck compared to other great cars, so I hope by my 50th, that's not an issue.
Cheers,
Scott
