Sorry to hear that. This guy has a big reputation around here for being a tool. Must be pretty childish to scam someone for $70. Maybe that's why he has no friends.

same as Clean_XB, i dont keep funds in my paypal account. withdraw from my account right away, and have a CC as backup.

I got screwed up about 6yrs ago on ebay. sold something, got paid and left it in my paypal account for whatever reason. seller said they never got anything about 3-4 days after i checked the tracking number which said it was delivered so i threw it away. paypal of course took his side and took my money, about $50 but still. still to this day i cannot use that paypal address because it still has an open dispute. i closed it.

about 2yrs ago, someone tried to scam me. the same way. thankfully i kept my tracking number (this item was $250). he opened a dispute and paypal asked for a tracking number, a couple of days later, paypal ended the dispute with me keeping my money.

all in all, if you ship it, keep the tracking number. transfer your money once you get paid. keep a CC as backup.

i agree with what clean_xb and yanki01 said but if you can do a local sale then do it but with cash only because there is some that want to pay through paypal and want the item asap but it honestly gets fishy that they bug and bug because you never know if they might try to cancel the transaction after they get what they wanted.

well not really exactly.. think about it..

he fronted the $70 to pay for the item in the first place.. he could've really paid her any amount... (shoot.. even $200 if you wanna think about it)

it's more.. he stole the locket/necklace/item itself.. and however much it was worth.

which makes him all the more pathetic and a loser.

An alternative would be to use Google Checkout. I've heard they don't have these kinds of issues. But I too always keep my Paypal account empty.

x2

I remember this necklace..I asked you for pictures of it. It's too bad you had to deal with this guy though. I had some trouble with him not too long ago. Seems like he didn't change..

you go to the postmaster general, did you pay for the shipping with a check? or a cc? you can get a copy of both from the bank or the cc company, tell him that you want to open a mail fraud case against so and so for theft of property through the mail

Isn't Paypal has a place where you can put a tracking # into? I always do that for every case.
