Hi there!
I’m Alan, a Scot who’s moved to the Boston area for a while and have bought a 2016 Scion tC.
In the UK I have an unhealthy obsession with the Toyota Yaris, having owned five Mk1 Yaris (Echo hatch) over the years. Currently, a
friend and I have a Mk1 Yaris T-Sport which has been 2ZZ-swapped following a track outing where I and one of the chaps from Bad Obsession Motorsport / Project Binky killed the original 1NZ-FE.
My “sensible daily driver” in the UK is a 1-of-400 Yaris GRMN that’s currently in storage, but that I'd like to bring over next summer.
I bought the tC because:
I’ve always liked them.
I don’t have the network of garages and specialists I know I the UK and you can’t go wrong with a Toyota.
Unless you’re prepared to bend over and lube up, credit is almost impossible to get when you first come to the US.
Anyhow, 6 weeks into ownership I really like the tC and have been working on tidying up some of the scruffier parts of the car. It’s been well maintained, but there are a few anomalies including poorly-repainted interior plastics and a weird clutch issue that it’ll ask about elsewhere.

Thanks folks!
I've just realised there was a typo in my original post - It's a 2015 so I have neither the luxury of push-button start nor a rear wiper. I think I'll cope!
Hey everyone, I just wanted to share something I discovered that really helped me. I’ve been experimenting with canva oder photoshop to make my images look better, and it’s amazing how much a few tweaks can improve a photo. I tried it on a recent project, and it turned out way nicer than I expected. Thought fellow enthusiasts might like this tip too.
