Default Best product/ or method for engine

this past winter i had run over some pot holes and long story short i ripped off my fender liner, i had some salt and snow get splashed around in the engine from the tire spinning so what can i do to make the metal clean again or is there a process i can do or a kit to clean the engine thanks ahead for the advice

Steel wool and/or sandpaper followed by some sort of metal polish.

mothers metal polish worked perfect for my valve cover. I dont know how well it would work for other spots though. As for sanding, you could try a dremel with a small sand bit, that might make things easier.
