Default Chrome stripping/resurfacing/painting wheels, slow project.

Well, I picked up a set of wheels yesterday..and...they are ROUGH.

They are also chrome, and flaking horribly.

The wheels are not for me, but for a friend. Buut...that's a whole other story.

This thread will basically just document everything I do to try and bring them back from the "wheel graveyard".

I will be trying multiple techniques to strip the chrome (until one works), and doing this on an extreme budget (Just graduated, just married, working, wife is a full time nursing student).

I've been doing waaay too much searching on stripping chrome, and have come up with everything from oven cleaner to bleach, to comet and a toothbrush http://http://www.ehow.com/how_56159...n-cleaner.html, http://www.ehow.com/how_7898793_make...l-off-rim.html.

I'm going to try the easiest and cheapest approach over the weekend to strip the chrome, expect some pictures and (probably) a frustrated rollertoaster.

Here's hoping for the best!
