Gear OIL requirements

you guys that have yout TC's already.. is there any mention in the manual as to what is the recommended gear lube weight and capacity for the 5sp..

hahaitzskippy 02-18-2005 05:26 PM

u mean transmission fluid?

Petem 02-18-2005 06:58 PM

well.. yes and no.. id like to know what they recommend for the 5 speed gear box.....

usually.. transmission fluid in my book refers to automatics transmission fluid.. gear lube usually refers to lube used in the stick transmission.. :P

in a manual. they should make a differentiation between the 2... i hope..

Well, it's a transaxle, so the transmission shares fluid with the differential. Anyway, the shop manual says viscosity SAE 75W-90, grade API GL-4 or GL-5. It takes 2.5L or 2.6 US quarts.
