Well I say drop kick your friend and make them pay to fix it. Or else just get it repainted and it should be fine, won't be able to tell the diffrence.

I mean it was an accident I'm not mad I'm just annoyed that it happened I didn't expect the glow stick to explode either, and neither did she I'm sure but either way I'm going to hit up the grocery store after dinner and see what I find I have mineral spirits and a few other things I'm going to try if not I'll paint it and if it still doesn't look right I guess I'll resort to replacing it but either way thanks for all the feedback I'll let you know what happens

Wow - that's so unfortunate. Oh my goodness - this SO could have happened to me. I can't tell you how many times we've had these hanging from our rear view. now I know not to do THAT again. Thanks for the tip.

I'd make the numb-nuts friend of yours help you clean it since he messed it up in the first place.

Default Glow sticks contain hydrogen peroxide, and phenol is produced as a by-product..

Hey dude,

(From Wikipedia) Glow sticks contain hydrogen peroxide, and phenol is produced as a by-product. Therefore, it is advisable to keep the mixture away from skin, and to prevent accidental ingestion, if the glow stick case splits or breaks. If spilled on skin, the chemicals could cause slight skin irritation, swelling or, in extreme circumstances, cause vomiting and nausea. However, many ravers will cut or break open a glow stick and apply the glowing solution directly to bare skin in order to make their bodies glow. It has been said that glow stick chemicals cause cancer;[9] the phenol produced is toxic, corrosive and a category 3 mutagen. Also it is wise to avoid all contact with thin membranes such as the eye or nasal area. Despite reports to the contrary, it is not safe to smoke or ingest glowing phenol, and it will not produce any drug-like effects. The fluid contained in glow sticks can also dissolve some types of plastic.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glow_stick

Basically, before a glowstick glows you have the color dye, hydrogen peroxide and diphenyl oxilate, after the thin glass inside the glowstick is broken a chemical reaction occurs yielding 2 compunds that glow, Phenol (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenol) which is basically carbonic acid (note that this substance IS harmful and may cause cancer and will cause chemical burns. The compund used (medically) to remove it is found in laxatives (no joke http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polyethylene_glycol) one that is good is Miralax mixed with water. This ceases the acidity of the acid and it becomes removable. The other chemical that is created is peroxyacid ester, which eventually decomposes into carbon dioxide.

Basically you can try and Miralax it out if it hasn't baked in, and you will probably have some oxidized paint.

Hope this works!!! Let me know if it does!!

Peace!

yea, then after you're done cleaning, make your friend drink some of it so they can have just as much fun as you did cleaning it up
