Default Maintenance Req'd Light blinking?!?!?

Hey gang,

Does anyone have the same issue as me right now. Everything I turn on the car... the "Maint Req'd" light blinks (even after all the other lights have went out) for about 5-6 times... then goes out. My box has only 5k miles on it. Do i need to take it in for service? Or is it just normal to have it blink a few times? Is it indicative of something? Any help is appreciated...thanks everyone

Edwin

That light comes on every 5k miles to remind you to get your oil changed and get the 5k maintenance done.

If you already got your oil changed or change your own oil, you can reset the light yourself... the instructions are in the owners manual.

1. Turn on the ignition and make sure it is on your odometer display, not the trip display.
2. Turn off your ignition. Hold down the trip meter reset button and turn the ignition on. Keep the button pushed in.
3. The maintenance required light will flash for a few seconds. when it turns off, let go of the reset button.

The the display will change for 1 second and go back to the mileage. That's it.

A lot of good info here https://www.scionlife.com/tech/

I read about two pages worth and when it seemed like it was going to be more efficient to just post a thread, I did so. Also, I had to drive 3 hours out of town for work so I wanted to make sure that it was nothing serious before I drove back. Sorry that all these posts are annoying (as I do get annoyed as well with some of them) but at least I searched right? Well, thanks everyone for their help. Keep boxin'
