New ceramic brakes squeal - help me diagnose
Hey everyone. I just installed a new brake and rotor kit on my 2007 tC... They are the slotted rotors and ceramic pads, pretty typical. After I installed everything, I followed the break in procedure provided by the manufacturer then let the car cool. When I went out a few hours later I noticed the rear brakes are squeezing like mad when driving but once I start braking the squeezing goes away.
When I installed the pads I put some grease on the back of them, as recommended. It wasn't brake grease but its high temp stuff. Not really sure what the problem is, it's quite annoying. I notice the rotors look well broken in now.
Is it possible that there are metal shavings on the pads? There are shavings on the wheels. Anything else I should do? Thanks in advance

I installed a similar set of slotted rotors and ceramic pads on the rear and also get a grinding sound once they've warmed up or on a particularly warm day. I keep having to lube up the caliper pins which alleviate the issue for a couple days... Then seems to dry out? Trying to find the Toyota lube somewhere. BTW.. Only getting the noise on the drivers side. Is yours on both sides? Check those caliper pins.
