Oil change for the tC
Reading the manual that comes w/ the tC helps. But if you're **** like some people, you can switch out the original for some top quality fully synthetic at 1K and every 3K afterwards, but that's a waste. 5K is good enough when you use synthetic w/ tC. tC comes w/ synethetic from the factory.

tC does NOT come with synthetic oil. Regular Dino.
Good rule of thumb is if you drive mostly in stop and go traffice, change every 3-4,000 miles. If you drive mostly highway miles, then change every 4-5,000 miles.
I don't use synthetics but these oils are really good for your engine life expectancy.

but i'm not stupid, i don't fill it with premium gas, haha
government restrictions are soon to eliminate dino. all oil will be semi-synethic or fully synthetic very soon. synthetic oil really is beneficial at prolonging engine life.
where it sometimes is an issue is with older cars and their oil seals. synthetic seeps through and finds those leaks more than normal oil would.
after 1k miles on a new car i would suggest switching to synthetic and then changing every 5k miles regardless of highway driving or stop-and-go traffic.
