Default A/C Problem

Checked the fuses, all good.

Light turns on for A/C when selecting it at the controls... however, the only air blowing through is the same temp as outside.

Fans work to blow air through the car, however, the "bog" you feel when turning on the a/c is not noticable. So I'm sure the fans are working inside the car, but not neccesarily in the engine bay.

What else could I check before forking out money at the stealership?

I hope its not the a/c condenser, the car only has 43000 miles on it.

sounds more like a leak somewhere. a large leak. if when you put freon in and it was cold then now its getting warm then the freon go bye bye due to a leak. get a leak check done.

you can check leak yourself thats what I did.. Buy a refrigerant that contains dye and charge it to the low side port.. let the car run for few mins then use a UV flashlight to check leaks on the system.. my leak was on the condenser so i have to get it replaced

Dude, sorry to hear @ the coolant leak (started my reply at 3:15 finished at 3:45 so missed the update....
Definitly agree major leak,, most likely @ the condenser also. One of the casualties of having a lowered car, makes curbx/speed bumps/roadKill hazardous...
Get it fast due to system wide damage if you wait over 2/3 days.....

^^not enough freon is in the system... take it to any shop to have them charge the system with freon and also have them add a dye to check for leaks.... mine cools after about 20-30mins like yours as well and it's due to me messing around with the low side port to add freon that i accidently removed some freon out of it! i have to take it in, hopefully monday and have them re-charge it again cause this 100+ degree weather is killin me!!

my wifes 2002 ford focus cools A LOT quicker and A LOT cooler than my 2006 tC! WHAT THE HELL?!?! LOL
