Default Power tools on aftermarket lug nuts

Hey guys, this may be a noob question, but why is it that almost all of the aftermarket lug nuts say that you are not suppose to use power tools on them? I just bought my lug nuts that I plan to use on my new rims and just want to know the reason behind it. Thanks!

you can strip the lug or break the key. i never use air tools on my aftermarket lugs, except to remove them.

yeah, air tools put alot of stress on the lug and the key (several hundred foot pounds in some cases). Not only is this completely unnecessary (factory specs are 78 ft/lbs iirc), but as hkspeed said, it could break something.

But I thought the aftermarket lugs are suppose to be stronger compared to the OEM lugs? Dont they use power tools when they rotate your tires at the dealers? BTW, just for reference, the lugs I bought are the Buddy Club P-1 Racing Nut.

I use an Impact Gun to remove my Lugs, but never to install and I always use a Torque Wrench.

Impact guns are very bad for use on lugs of anykind. Most places do tho just to save time. Unless you are racing in Nascar just use hand tools and torque wrench to tighten them. The lugs and wheels will thank you in extended service lives.
