They have the TSB's there. They might plead dumb though, so take the numbers in there with you and say "I think this rattle MIGHT be TSB xxx-xxxx".

Dang, now _that_ is a hefty procedure! I wonder if the improvement in cooling is worth the potential harm of disassembling all that hardware?

Anyone had this one done yet?

Maybe find a way to set up a digital gauge & read what temp your car seems to like & what it should be at? Not sure if that would work.

No one ever did a reading on their a/c so I have nothing to compare mine to.

I would think 42* is nice & cold. Maybe the way to test is at fan speed 1. The air I would think should be the same from speed 1 to speed 4 just that speed 4 is pushing the air out much faster, so it fells up the car faster.

Hey guys, I ordered the kit to do my AC last week but the kit was on backorder. When it comes in I will do my car and see what happens. The kit has a higher capacity compressor and condenser. Also a different thermistor and wire harness for the blend doors. The system will have different switches for max cool and max heat, and the system should have more cooling potential. I will post the results when I get done.

Default Question about getting the TSB's done!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Can all the TSB's be done to the vehicle even if you don't notice all of them being a problem :?: ....warm a/c, all rattles, alignment issues

2) Will the dealer have to drive the car for any reason :?:

3) Does Toyota pay the dealer for each TSB performed on the vehicle :?: ....which is why each one has it's own time allowed for.

4) Being the **** freek I am about my Box should I let them know the car is new i.e. nothing's been taking apart, interior has no scrathes, all screws and bolts are in place and that I will inspect the work afterwards :?: I've let people in the past (Best Buy / Circuit City) work on my cars and always something f**ked up (scratches or missing hardware).

5) Anything else I should be aware of :?:

1. Yes, thats why its a TSB. Just let them know that you want it looked into.

2. Depending on what the TSB was for, maybe.

3. Yes Toyota pays the bill on this one.

4. Yes you could let them know this & tell them any part you find not like it was, you will have replaced under warranty because of there ____ poor skills.

5. Not that I know of, other then it might be in for a few days depending on how many problems you will have them fix.

Will the dealers give a loaner vehicle even if it's just for the day? Is an appoitment necessary?

I know I could call the dealer. I want to hear first hand experiences that way I have some leverage and know what to expect.
