Spark Plug gap on xB .032 ? or .044

I was doing some research online and in my service manual when i came across something different about the xB's part number for NGK's and the Echo's. The Echo has a .032 gap part # BKR5EYA (2087) and the xB at a .044 gap at BKREYA-11 (2526) for the NGK-R plugs. Now i looked in the service manual and the gap was at .031 so the Echo's plug works (same engine) but i'm wondering if .044 is really the spark plug that is needed. I already replaced my plugs with the .032 gapped NGK (R's). But wondering if anyone else came across this. The car runs fine with no misfires.

The stock plugs are NDs and come pre-gapped at .032. Why did you change your plugs? The stock plugs go 30k.

My car is already 25k. I pulled out the plugs and all of them burned well but the electrode was already slightly worn. I don't mind changing them every 25k or even earlier ... They're only 1.99 a piece.

25k  How long have you had that bad boy?

25K! is it bad if you're at least 10 thousand miles over that. I have 36,000 miles on mine and still drive around like a bad boy.

I've had the car a little over a year. Turned 1 on June 12th. But I probably would have 30k on it already if i didn't postpone a few road trips over the summer :) ..
