Transmission Fluid & Muffler

Hey everyone,

So I have a 2007 tC with 79,559 miles on it. I bought it in April 2012, used with 69,000 miles on it.

Just yesterday after starting it I noticed water coming out of the muffler. I knew that was somewhat normal but I also realized it sounded louder than usual. Maybe I'm going crazy but it just sounded loud. So of course I panic and have a couple guys I work with that do some maintenance on our company car and have them listen to the muffler and they seem to think nothing is wrong with it. I made an appointment to have the dealership that I bought it from take a look at it on Monday but of course, even with my warranty, they're going to charge me to just look at it.

Also I had the guys check my oil and I need an oil change, which is weird because I still have at least another 1,000 miles to go before I'm technically due for one.

I'm wondering if the fact that I need an oil change could be an issue? Or is there something else that could be seriously wrong. I'm just not sure what to do and if anyone else has had this problem.

Also my other concern is, last time I went for an oil change he warned me that the next time I go, I should consider a transmission fluid flush and a tC needs one every 30,000 miles. I'm reading a ton of different things online, some say it's not necessary and some say definitely do it.

If anyone has some insight I'd love to hear it! Thanks!

tranny fluid change every 30k for sure.

and yes, the motor could sound loud if the oil needs to be changed.

the car is a tank, dont worry about it. basic maintenance and youre fine.

Okay thank you for responding!

I'll change the oil first and see if it sounds better.
