Default xB automatic transmission

My automatic is doing some weird stuff lately. In the morning after I back out of the driveway and shift to drive, it seems to take a long time to engage. Then it hangs in gear for a long time until the engine seems to warm up. Also, my first to second gear shifts are really sloppy all the time, it slithers into gear instead of shifting positively.
Do you guys have similar problems?

you checked your transmission fluid level? sounds like my old 64' caddy, used to do the same thing when it was running low on juice....

but as your car is so new and under wararnty, i'd take that thing into the dealer and have them take a look for you.

I've never been happier with an engine/tranny combo. Dealer time for sure! Mine is still liquid smooth after a whole 1500 miles.

Sounds like a TV problem or govenor on tranny.

TV: Throttle Valve.... lets the tranny kno how for open the throttle body is to engage gears...

Govenor: Based on speed... weights that are held by springs faster u go the farther it opens up to change a gear.

If they arent adjusted and configured propertly ur gonna get shifting problems. Toyota should take care of this if ur still under warranty.

If u need more detailed info how they work.. let me kno.. but rather not blab my mouth off for no reason. Im currently goin to Seqouia Institite and got the high grade in the class for Auto tranny.. gonna take my ASE for it soon.

I noticed my girls Rav4 shifts real low in the morning...is this what you are experiencing?

Sorry If I really didnt follow.

The Rav4 is suppose to do that, its a warming process. If you gun a cold engine your rape the valve train...
