My TC has been off the road for 3 mos. due to bearing failure on the shaft side. I just received my new shaft with bearings from Gompka. This was well worth the wait . The total time to reassemble was about 1.5 hours. My TC fired up on the first try, even though the battery had been sitting for 3 mos. without a charge. The supercharger runs ultraquiet, in fact, I cannot remember it running so smoothly, which tells me the bearings were probably on their way out for quite some time.

Per Gompka,, I installed a grease fitting in the bearing housing to extend the bearing life. Other than the shaft replacement, there is not much you can do to prolong the life of the original shaft and bearings as the original design and manufacture is just pathetic.

If this aftermarket fix was not available my next step was to remove the supercharger and bring the car back to pre-SC condition. I could not be more pleased with the result and recommend this fix to anyone with a supercharged TC.

I recently purchased a brand new set of supercharger pulley-side shaft bearings thinking I would be able to rebuild the shaft myself. Once I removed the old shaft, however, I found the shaft was worn out and needed to be replaced. I have ordered a new supercharger shaft with bearings which should arrive next week. As a result, I have brand new bearings for sale if anyone is interested.

Is anyone selling parts for a 2009 Scion TC TRD supercharger? I am particularly interestec in getting an extra shaft assembly for mine that I can rebuild as a spare?
